Introducing the TriFreaks Team – Sarah….

Hey Folks,

We’ll be introducing the TriFreaks team over the next few blog posts.  We thought you might want to know a little bit about us and why we do this…  Sarah is a new TriFreaker, she just joined us, and we are excited to have her on board…  Here is her story in her own words:

Sarah Mud RunHealth and fitness have been my passion as long as I can remember. Whether I was watching people I loved struggle with obesity or chronic illness I have always wanted to help. Eventually I made the decision to get a degree in Fitness and become a personal trainer. I have loved helping people change their lives by losing weight, decreasing pain, and increasing quality of life.

A few years ago a dear friend on a journey was signed up for her first 5K. I offered to do it with her and in the end I ran the 5K alone. More walking than running took place but I proudly finished that 5K and ended up loving the experience. My husband was intrigued and signed up for his first triathlon shortly after. That began the journey of running and triathlon races for us. We often volunteered for races when we could and loved the atmosphere and support involved. I kept finding myself wanting a bigger role in the events that we were a part of.

Both my husband and I have continued in our fitness. I still am thriving as a personal trainer and loving weight lifting, but I also ran my first half-marathon and am enjoying the obstacle course races that are emerging. My husband completed his first half-iron distance triathlon and I have enjoyed supporting him as a spouse and as a trainer. My almost 7 year old daughter is also very anxious to be like her dad and be in a triathlon herself.

Now I have the opportunity with TriFREAKS to have that bigger role that I have wanted. I am so excited to get to know the athletes better and be a part of the journey whether someone is racing for the podium or reaching into their deepest places to accomplish something they never knew was possible.

You will see me answering your questions via email, at registration, and on race day. I am here to support YOU. This is what I love to do and I am so happy to be able to partner with TriFREAKS to do it.
