Kailua-Kona, Hawaii Training Camp, August 21-28, 2010
 

 

Camp Details:

If you are looking for a place to start your triathlon training or you want to bring your training to the next level, this camp can help you reach your goals.

Camps are designed for all ages and abilities so treat yourself to an athlete’s training & vacation with professionally coached group bike rides, swims and runs on parts of the Hawaii World Championship Iron Man Course.

 

 

The camp will be a USAT sanctioned event, and will therefore require USAT membership.  Participants will need to show their current USAT membership on check in or purchase a one day membership ($10) at the athlete check in.

 

Your Experience Will Include:

 

  • Seven days of intensive, focused, cutting-edge instruction in triathlon training/racing at any distance; sprint to iron.
  •  
    Expert-led sessions on bike fits, handling, gearing, transitions, heart-rate monitors, nutrition, speedwork, designing a training program, etc.
  •  
    Life-changing experiences with like-minded individuals from around the planet in a world-class vacationer’s environment!
  • A 5k & 10k challenge run on the morning of the 29th of August, followed by the Running On Faith health and wellness expo put on by the Never Stop Foundation.
  • TriFREAKS and Running On Faith Swag, a copy of the new Running On Faith book written by Jason P. Lester, and more.  We can't tell you everything...  It's no fun without some element of surprise.
  • Personal attention, motivation & inspiration to become successful, and of course lots of fun!!!
  • Bonus activities: Extra activity options like snorkeling, whale/dolphin watching, manta ray night dives, volcano & waterfall hikes and beach visits will be arranged for the week.
 

Camp pricing includes all daily meals & training nutrition, lodging, great swag, a professionally made video of the camp highlighting your experiences of the week!  Every athlete will get a copy of the video to take home at the end of the camp.

 

The camp is limited to 35 participants so we can give everybody the focus and personalized attention that they should receive.

 

NOTE: We are creating the training and activity itinerary right now.  It should be available soon, so come back and visit often.

 

Pricing information:

 

  • $950 (Before July 21st) / $1,050 (After July 21st) - Kamaaina (Big Island Local) Rate.  This rate is for Hawaaians living on the big island that do not need lodging to participate in the camp.  The rate covers all the camp training activities as well as all daily meals and training nutrition.
  • $1,750 (Before July 21st) / $1,850 (After July 21st) - Kamaaina (Remaining Hawaian Islands) Rate.  This rate is for Hawaaians living on any of the other Hawaiian islands that need lodging to participate in the camp.  The rate covers all lodging, the camp training activities as well as all daily meals and training nutrition.
  • $2,100 (Before July 21st) / $2,200 (After July 21st) - Regular Rate.  This rate is the regular rate for camp participants that will need lodging to participate in the camp.  The rate covers all lodging, the camp training activities as well as all daily meals and training nutrition.

 

Note: All rates include bonus activities such as beach visits, hikes, etc...  Some of the activities, such as whale watching, scuba diving/snorkeling and/or manta ray night diving require additional equipment rental fees that are not covered by the camp.

 

Deposits: To reserve your spot a $250 non refundable deposit is required.  The remainder of the fee is due post marked no later than July 21, 2010.

 

Payment Plan: The registration fee can be made in three equal payments.  First payments are due by May 21, 2010;  Second payments are due by June 21, 2010; and the Third payment is due by July 21, 2010.

 

Payment Methods: We accept checks and debit/credit cards via PayPal.  Debit and credit cards require an additional 3%* added to the total to cover processing fees.  To mail your check, please make it out to TriFREAKS Inc. and use the address in the signature section at the bottom of this page.  Additional options include registering via Active.com.  Please note that this route will result in additional fees to you, as Active.com charges close to 7% on top of the fee of registration.

 

*We apologize for the extra 3% fee, however pricing on our camps is very competitive, and there isn't much room for us to absorb costs.  Our goal with these camps is primarily to create an amazing opportunity for athletes to train in a wonderful setting, and allow us to be a part of the amazing experience.  Similar camps charge $1000 for five days without any food or lodging included.

 

* TriFREAKS Inc. is actively looking for a better solution than hosting our registrations on Active.com.  We feel, like many, that their fees are too high.  The challenge is that they have significant market share and to get the word out about our events it is almost necessary to list our events with them.  If you know of better solutions, don't hesitate to let us know via feedback@trifreasks.com.  Providing paper registration for events with more than 50 participants is time prohibitive, so while we would love to offer this for all our events, it would literally require us to hire someone to do this for us, which inevitably would end up in higher registration fees for you guys.  So let's keep looking together to find someone that provides a good service and charges less.

 

Refund Policy: Your full payment minus $250 is refundable for withdrawals up until July 1, 2010. For withdrawals between July 1 and July 21 50% of your full payment is refundable. After July 21, 2010, we will not be able to provide refunds.

 

* Please understand that it is not our intention to profit from this policy, rather to be able to continue to offer a consistent quality of event at a reasonable cost.
