| Event Overview / Information: Back to Grand Columbian Overview What: | Come join us in Grand Coulee with your family, friends and kids and experience an amazing event and amazing geologic wonders and vistas of Eastern Washington. Experience the best Super Tri, Ultra (Iron), Long (Half Iron) and Olympic distance triathlon courses, Aquabike, Duathlons, Half and Full Marathon courses in the Pacific Northwest. The Grand Columbian offers the only Super Tri and Ultra (Iron) distance race in Washington with the kind of experience you expect in a local and friendly environment! The Grand Columbian has complete community support, thousands of dollars in awards and raffles, unique Partnership awards for married couples, corporate and club team events, men's and women's tech shirts, and medallions for all events. We will be serving some great post race food, with a pre-race carb loading dinner. We are working hard on also having a live band with a ton of local folks there to support you. (For Start Times Read On) | Where: | The Grand Columbian is located in the Grand Coulee Dam area, 90 miles west of Spokane, 100 miles south of Osoyoos, B.C. and 65 miles east of Wenatchee, WA. For more facts on Lake Roosevelt visit the Lake Roosevelt Forum. | Packet Pick-Up: | Mandatory Packet Pick Up: ALL Participants are REQUIRED to pick their packets up from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm on Friday, September 15th, 2011 at the Spring Canyon Campground. Yes that includes those doing the Olympic distance triathlon. :-) For directions to Spring Canyon Campground click here. You can also find more detailed directions at the bottom of this webpage. Mandatory Bike Check In: Once you have picked up your packet you will prepare your bike and proceed to T1 inside Spring Canyon Campground, where you will check your bike in after a quick Safety Inspection. Checking in your bike on Friday the 14th is mandatory for ALL distances. Race Bags and Special Needs Bags: Bags can be dropped on Friday or Saturday morning when you check in. T1 will be open at 4am. T1 will close 15 minutes prior to each race brief. See below for specific time for each distance. We will make sure your bags are placed in the right area for your race. If you have a special needs bag (Super Tri, Ultra (Iron) and Half distances only), please make sure you place your Bib Number on your Bag and Gear you want it back after the race. Athletes Info Packets Can Be Viewed Here Athletes Meetings: Informational athlete meetings for events on the 14th will be held at 5:15 pm at the Spring Canyon Campground T1 area, followed by a carb loading dinner at 6:00 pm at North Dam Park It is strongly recommended you attend the athletes meetings. | | Event Cost | Event Cost: To view registration fees please click on the "Register Now" button below. You can review fees for the various distances on the page that opens. | Registration: | Registration Details: Athletes can register late on Packet Pick-Up day with an increase to price (See the fee chart above). There will be NO registration on RACE DAY! | | Refund Policy: | ATTENTION: Please read our Refund & Rollover Policy to make sure you understand our policies. | Transition Area Check In: | Transition Area Check In: opens on Friday, September 14th at Spring Canyon Campground from 1:00 pm until 7:00 pm. The transition area will open up again at 5:00 am on the 15th and will remain open with limited access. SECURITY BANDS: All athletes will be issued security wrist bands that will be used to cross check names and bib numbers for permission to enter the transition area. Non participants, and/or anyone not wearing a security wrist band will NOT be allowed inside the transition area. ATTENTION: Friday the 14th bike check in is mandatory for all events! Please do not check your bike in until you are ready to leave it there for the night.For security purposes absolutely no bikes will be allowed out of the transition area once they have been checked in until the events start. If you feel you need to warm up on a bike, bring your commuter bike, or another bike to ride. You will be able to enter the transition area before your event to check your tires, etc... HELMETS: Helmets are required at ANY TIME you are on a bike! Not wearing your helmet, even if you are just riding your bike to the transition area to check it in, or riding another bike to warm up, is grounds for DISQUALIFICATION! These are USAT RULES and protect you and us from injuries and/or any results thereof. | Event Parking: | Event Parking: Please note parking instructions for race day! TriFREAKS is not responsible for your vehicles should they be towed. And if they block the race they WILL BE TOWED! Plan ahead, park smart and leave yourself enough time take care of everything you need to take care of the morning of the race. Spring Canyon Park has limited parking, please obey NO PARKING signs or the Rangers will ticket and tow you. T2 & Finish Line area at the Park has NO PARKING inside the park. Course Cut Off Times: NOTE: Cut off times (BELOW) for race support will be enforced for Ultra (Iron Distance) and Super Tri distances for swim bike and run. That means if you choose to do so you can continue on if you are on the course. However there will be no support crew on the course after the cut off times. Cut off times will be as follows: Super Tri Distance - Swim Cut Off: 8:30 am Super Tri Distance - Bike Cut Off: 6:30 pm Super Tri Distance - Run Cut Off: 12:00 am (Midnight)

Special Notes: NOTE: Please familiarize yourself with the course. Take a close look at the course maps and other information. It's your race! Make sure you know it! Optional IV's: For all Iron and Super distances (Aquathlon included) athletes may optionally purchase an 1000 ml IV during registration for $35 that guarantees them accelerated post race hydration and accelerated recovery. The purchase will assure you a no hassle IV that will set you on course for a quick recovery. We will have medical staff waiting at the finish line to administer them.
